Wicker rocking chairs seem to be finding a resurgence of popularity. It had been a long time since I remember seeing a good old fashion rocker in somebody’s home. But then suddenly, as my generation of women began to start their own families, I began to notice a trend: rockers were appearing everywhere! They started out only in nurseries with newborns, and then my friends really began to appreciate the comforts those chairs offered, and added more rockers to the rest of their homes.

With all the people looking for wicker rocking chairs these days, I thought it might be helpful to offer a review of some of the rocking chairs out on the market currently.

This Wicker Rocking Chair, from Spice Islands Wicker, came in #3 on our list. With Solid wicker construction, natural finish, and dimensions of 32.5 in. Width x 41.5 in. Deep x 37.5 in. Height. It features a South Sea style wicker design, accented with a tufted-back rocking chair cushion and padded seat, with several fabric patterns to choose. Customers appreciated the craftsmanship of the rocker itself, but they were disappointed at how quickly the fabric cushions faded and deteriorated. Prices averaged about $520.00 USD.

The second most popular rocker is the Port Royal Resin Wicker Rocking Chair, from NorthCape International. Featuring a wide-arm design, durable resin weave, supported by a commercial-grade aluminum frame. Customers found this wicker rocking chair to be attractive, easy to clear, weatherproof and very well constructed. With dimensions of 39″ x 37″ x 36″, customers were happy with the size and comfort of the chair, and thought that its average price of $289.00 was extremely reasonable and worth the cost.

And finally we have the Vineyard Outdoor White Wicker Rocking Chair, also from NorthCape International. This is a great indoor/outdoor rocking chair that is UV and weather-resistant. This rocker features the same aluminum frame and sturdy resin wicker as the Port Royal, and looks to be a standard part of NorthCape’s construction model. Customers gave rave reviews for this rocking chair’s comfort,  clean-ability and durability. Priced on average at $198.00 USD, it’s the cheapest of the three chairs, yet also the smallest (26 x 28 x 35 in), and will probably get you the most bang for your buck.

There are obviously hundreds of styles of wicker rocking chairs to choose from, but after a quick search online to compare products and prices, these three chairs stood out above the rest. They are found at decent prices, and are well liked by consumers.

Your bottom is sore, and you have just about had it! You really need to replace that old beat up rocking chair cushion, but you’re not quite sure how to go about it. Or maybe you have a fine resin wicker rocking chair that you’d like to preserve by covering it with a tasteful yet comfortable cushion? Well, this is a good stop. My husband and I had similar troubles trying to make our chairs comfortable after years of use and abuse, and these are the places we looking into first.  Maybe I can set you on the right path, as well.

The first place I’d check out is BabyBedding.com. They offer some very sheik rocking chair cushions in a wide variety of designs and colors. Although intended to fit nursery themes, some of the designs are neutral enough to be used for rockers anywhere in the house. All the designs run the same specs, with 2 cushions at 30”x21”/17” for the back and 20”x18” for the back. The batting is made from recyclable hypoallergenic polyester fiber-fill. Prices range from $62-$89. Standard shipping rates apply.

For indoor and outdoor rocking chairs, TheRockingChairCompany.com has a fantastic selection. Ranging from just tie-on chair bottoms, to standard cushions, to cushion sets. They have floral and striped fabric patterns, as well as some more sedated neutral colors good for everything from cedar rocking chairs to white wicker rocking chairs. Their cheapest single seat cushion runs about $25, the cushions with backs plus seat roam around in the $40’s and $50’s, and they even supply rocking chair bench cushions for $55-$99. And I notice they offer free shipping for many of their products.

TheCurtainShop.com has a wide variety of great looking indoor/outdoor rocking chair cushions as well. These guys might be your final stop. They products are ‘made in America’, and they offer free fabric samples for those of you looking to get a feel for what you’ll be perching on. Some of their cushions can be selected from many, many colors, and are covered in 100% cotton fabric and filled with resilient foam rubber. Beautiful enough for indoors, yet durable enough for outside. They’re a bit pricier than the other distributors anywhere from $60-$80 for most of their products, although they do offer single pieces of some cushion sets for lower prices. Standard shipping rates apply unless you have orders over $500, then it’s free.

There you have it. Three great places to check into during your quest for some great rocking chair cushions. If you’d like to find out more about making a rocking chair a significant part of your life, just check some of our related links!
