Many years ago when you wanted a loan you had to go to the bank or another lender and bring a great deal of financial paperwork. Then you had to fill out endless forms and, when you were finally completed with all that you had to wait days or sometimes weeks for your loan to be approved. Those days are long gone however. Even large loans, like mortgages can be obtained on the internet. In most cases they can be obtained by filling out one or two pages of questions and clicking submit. And in many cases your loan is approved or disapproved within a few hours and you will have access to the money on the next business day.

So What Is A Logbook Loan?

One of the most popular of the new credit product is loans for logbook. These are bad credit loans in which the logbook is the security. If you and your vehicle meet the criteria you will be approved for a loan up to the value of the vehicle. The value is assessed by using Kelly´s Blue Book. The car must be under 8 years old and in good running condition. You also must be the owner; at least 18 years old, a citizen and the car must be insured for the duration of the loan. Most lenders also ask that you have some source of verifiable income.

Some people even use logbook loans to improve their credit. Since a logbook loan is secured there is no credit check. When you make timely payments however this is reported to the credit reporting agencies, which improves your credit score. If you pay off a five thousand dollar loan with no late payments your credit will be vastly improved. This is a great way to fix your credit score and get some extra money to fix up your home to improve the value or your home or consolidate your bills.
