Being financially free is listed as a goal by most people. While others see it as a dream, some people realize that it really can be achieved over a period of time. In order to find steps to living the good life without debt, just follow the 5 basic ways to be free financially. These steps may not be the ultimate solution to your concerns but these do lay a foundation in your effort to achieve your goal.

1. In order to be financially free, you must first pay off all credit cards and loans. You must learn to live on cash purchases only and buy with money you have saved. By avoiding loans and paying off bills as they are due, you are not giving away hard earned money to others for their profits instead of yours. Consider some debt consolidation quote and any related debt settlement plan.

2. Part of becoming financially free is having enough money that you do not have to worry about being able to pay the next bills. Increase your income and decrease your debt. You can increase your income by investing in good training or extra schooling to prepare you for any change in the future of our economic world as it is.

3. Make sure you have good insurance on all vehicles, health insurance on yourself and family and good insurance on your home. This helps to keep the cost of large emergencies under control. One car wreck and a major surgery can leave you destitute. Keep your coverage current and in the amount you may need.

4. Make good investments in your future. By having financial security for your future and retirement, means you will not have to worry where the next dollar is going to come from to pay a bill or eat your next meal.

5. Pay off your home and do not take another loan against it. Prepare a will so you make sure your family remains financially free even after your life is finished on this earth.
